CoralCam v3.2L PCB

$40.00

Don’t want to spend time building the open-access, DIY version of the CoralCam PCB? You can save time and space in your CoralCam housing by purchasing these pre-made PCBs!

The CoralCam PCB is the primary component in any CoralCam and functions by electronically manipulating an action camera’s buttons to achieve scheduled data capture. The improved v3.2L PCB is slightly longer than previous iterations and includes additional breakouts to two digital pins, VCC, and GND - for doing things like triggering an external light source during night-time photos. These PCBs are manufactured with surface mounted components to be as low-profile as possible, providing more space for wire organization inside of your CoralCam underwater housing and reducing the opportunity for flooding.

What you’ll need to use this PCB:

  • A laptop with the Arduino IDE installed and all relevant libraries for programming

  • A USBasp and FTDI serial-to-usb programmer

  • A CR1220 coin cell battery

  • Four wires (for connecting Shutter +, Shutter -, Mode +, and Mode - to your action camera per the build guide

  • A power connector (for connecting the PCB to your PCB power source of choice)

Just wire the complete PCB up to your camera, program the PCB, power it up and you’re off to collect time-lapse data in no time!

Specifications:

  • Approximate PCB dimensions: 35x41x6mm

  • Input voltage: 3-8 V DC

  • Power consumption: ~0.18 mA when sleeping or ~5 mA during data capture, allowing long-duration deployments undersea or on land

  • Accurate, temperature-compensated real-time clock with CR1220 battery holder for backup RTC power

  • FTDI programming headers for quick, easy programming using the Arduino IDE
